Camel Tracks…. At Home in the Australian OUTBACk

Although I’m not outback born and bred, I feel like I’ve lived in the OUtback forever. I’ve lived over half my adult life here, raised my children here, and after all this time, the Outback has become who I am: my place of reference, the way I talk, the lens through which I view life.

Although I came from elsewhere, I can no longer recognise the person who arrived in Alice Springs all those years ago. The uptight, snooty, yuppie from an equally uptight, snooty country town.

That person is gone, erased by the red sand, the vastness of the skies, the deep and eternal authenticity of the Outback.

This blog is my homage to the Outback. You’ll find gossip, events, musings, photos, notes, traveller’s tips and the occasional outback recipe.

I welcome comments and hope you enjoy your stay here.
